Peace Where Are You

Peace Where Are You?

Peace Dove

Peace where do you find it? Where does it start?
How do we get it into everyone’s heart?

I know we all want it, why’s it so hard to do
That is a question I ask all of you

I wonder why it’s so hard today
Peace for the world I daily pray

You think you are right, I think you are wrong
This could persist but for how long

We must learn to listen to other views
Instead of continuing to argue

I know if we all try and work together
We can make the world a little better

Sandpaper Friends

Sandpaper Friends

Extra Fine
SANDPAPER FRIENDS
One night while I was at my Life Group meeting we were discussing people. No one in particular just people and I realized (because I don’t have the mind to memorize scripture or put things in proper perspective I have to come up with an analogy that will remind me of the verse and the meaning of the verse).
I realized that people are like sandpaper. There are all kinds of sandpaper some are coarse and some are fine. Yes my mind does not work like the average mind I mean look at the way I dress do you think anyone normal person would look like this well that’s another chapter. But again I thought people are like sandpaper.
Some are coarse they do the heavy sanding and stripping they rough up the surface. But this is needed to prepare the surface for the next grit. These are the friends that can be harsh at times, a little rough, they are blunt but many times tell you the truth without sugar coating. Sometimes you need these friends. They should not be mean but they are right to the point with their blunt honesty which we made need to get through our thick heads.
Medium sandpaper smoothes the surface and removes smaller imperfections and marks. We need these friends who can give us constructive feedback.
Fine sandpaper is used for finishing the wood. These friends give us encouragement and help us on our journey.
Very Fine is used between coats of stain or sealer. These are our rah-rah friends who are there to cheer us on.
Extra Fine is used to remove the dust spots or marks between the finishing coats. These are the friends that wipe the tears when we feel overwhelmed or want to give up.
And then there is the super fine this gives the shine. These are the friends who have supported you all the way. They are the total of all the sandpapers put together. They love you no matter what and are always there for you. They help you in every way possible to finish what you have started and be there for you as a forever friend.
So you will meet these sandpaper friends and you will think “What grit of sandpaper are they and where will they fit into my life?” “Why do I like this person and why were they sent here? To annoy me? To help me? To teach me? Yes, they grate on me like coarse sandpaper but then I realized that even the coarse sandpaper has a purpose.

The moral is everything starts off rough and then if we stick to it long enough, use all the sandpapers that are necessary, and work on it hard enough in the end it will all be beautiful, shiny, and smooth. Then we will be able to say it was all worth it.

Why Lord? Why?

Why Lord? Why?

Why Lord

Small or BIG why, am I suffering this trial?
Will these tears and pain end? Will I ever again smile?

I pray but do YOU hear me? The sadness in my voice?
My child, I've never left you, But I've given you a choice.

Don't run from this trial, there's something you must learn
I truly care about you. You are my main concern

Taking something from you was to not have you crash and collide
It was to show you when you trust ME I truly will provide

Life cannot be without troubles, that are waiting for you someday
The RX for you right now, stay faithful, trust ME, and continue to pray

God Bless

Words Hurt

Words Hurt

By: RoseMary

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”

I do not know who said this, but I totally disagree. Words are powerful. Words can be so destructive. Words said can never be taken back. Once released they have escaped someone’s mouth but have kept someone else captive.

WORDS HURT. They run deep into our minds and into our hearts. Words are permanent. Words are like a scar. Words will either build someone up or tear them down.

I was told for years that no one would ever want me, that if I could not do something perfectly then I should not do it at all. I was not good enough. Those words entered my life and I allowed them to hold me captive. I allowed them to continue to repeat over and over in my head, and I believed them. I lived my life by those words. WORDS HURT.

When I sit back and reflect on things, I realize that I also have said words that have hurt others and my heart hurts. I know I can never take those words back and apologizing can put a band-aid on the hurt, it will heal on the outside, but the scar will always remain inside.

I try very hard now to live by my life mission goal to” Find Good In Everything” and believe me there are many, many, many times I find it hard to do. One of my favorite verses for this is:

Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to YOU, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer”

So, I ask how have words impacted you? How have your words impacted others? Before you speak please remember Words Hurt.

True Friends (1) (2)

TRUE FRIENDS are true gifts from God.

Always let them know how important they are to you and how much you love them.

A TRUE FRIEND will love you unconditionally.

Treasure those friendships. We never know when God will want them back.

"A FRIEND loves at all times"
Proverbs 17:17

What If?

What If?

By: RoseMary

What if we each had a kind word to say?
Not once in a while but everyday.

What if we stopped blaming one another?
Began showing compassion for our sister and brother.

What if we looked for the good in every situation?
Imagine the impact on our entire nation.

What if we replaced greed with giving?
Cared about those who are here, and still living.

What if power was turned into love?
Following the commandments of our God from above.

I know it would be better here and all would see.
The only way it will start is if it begins with me.
